Keeping your iron clean

Good day ladies
I recently bought a new iron and as we all do our best to take care of what is new. My old iron broke and i was partly glad because it had a mark on the plate that i could not remove so i decide to clean every stain i make on the new iron and i found that Handy Andy makes removing stain on the plate of my iron easy but you need to use a course sponge but not very course as is going to scratch the iron.
Just a tip i thought i just share if some of you have the same problem i had with my old iron.
